Forum di Assago
The most important appointment with Latin American music, not only in Italy but throughout Europe, opens at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago with LatinoAmericando. The festival, founded in 1990 thanks to the brilliant idea of an Italian-Peruvian, Juan Jose Fabiani, now celebrates its 20th edition and, as of last year, it has also become "Expo" hosting an exhibition dedicated to the 21 countries represented. 36.000 square metres, an actual village, will host all forms of Latin-American expressions: music, dance, folklore, literature, art, cuisine, handicrafts, tourism and trade, as well as solidarity initiatives addressed by some of the countries. The Mediolanum Forum in Assago will be animated by Latin American rhythms for almost two months, giving life to a happy and carefree dancing nightlife, for an appointment which has now become a Milanese summertime classic.

Milano Jazzin' Festival
Arena Civica "Gianni Brera"
The 4th edition of Milano Jazzin’ Festival is starting! Here comes the summer appointment at Arena Civica with the jazz, rock, fusion, pop concerts. An extraordinary selection of music, cured by the artistic director Nick The Nightfly. An overview on all musical contemporary genres that turns Parco Sempione in July and August into a real Park of Music.
In the last years Milan has seen in this festival Jazz players such as Pat Metheny, Courtney Pine, Enrico Rava and Jan Garbarek; important musicians like REM, Patty Smith, James Taylor, George Benson and Simple Minds; funk music by Maceo Parker and Incognito; soul by Erykah Badu and Seal; Italian pop music by Subsonica and the great Paul Simon revival; the piano of Stefano Bollani and the trumpet of Paolo Fresu and Fabrizio Bosso; legends like Lenny Kravitz and Cesaria Evora, Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club and Steely Dan.
